Postscribed ID (PID) - makes each disc unique!
Postscribed ID™ technology allows you to add unique ID codes or data to optical discs, providing a convenient way to produce individually identifiable discs. The ID codes are added to each disc during manufacturing, and can be utilized for a variety of applications, including authentication keys for interactive information exchange via the Internet or for identification for Massively Online Gaming. When combined with the SecuROM copy protection system, access can be limited to people who own a legally produced disc.
Disc Production Flow:
Between 6 and 28 bytes of exclusive ID data can be inscribed in a predetermined area of the disc. Postscribed ID discs comply with the CD-ROM format and are readable by standard CD-ROM and DVD-ROM- drives on the market. By recording title specific information, such as a title number, serial number or primary account number on discs, this new technology enables user registration, registered user identification, prevention of double access, encryption key distribution, and other flexible services for individual users.
Example: Software Registration Key

Advantages: no cost for stickers on the disc packaging, no additional booklets, no mishandling, no mistyping of registration codes by end users, copy tracking is possible, etc.
